Our Story

From our humble beginnings in 1839, we are a 4th generation farm that takes pride in our produce and want to share what the land has to offer in central Pennsylvania. Ken and Sandy Martz returned to the farmstead in 1995. Ken, who grew up on the farm, always wanted to be a farmer. His love of the land and his PSU degree in Agricultural Mechanization combined to make his dream come true. As farm life and family life intertwined, growing exceptional crops and children became the focus. Martz Farms Market began with a few vegetables sold out of the garage. The business grew from a small shed out front to the current vintage farm stand that houses farm-fresh produce from June – October. We make a great team – Ken takes the lead with the production and harvest duties, while Sandy puts her degrees in Business Administration/Marketing and Education to work in the market side of the business. We take pride in the fact that everything we sell is produced on this little slice of God’s green earth that has been in the family for almost 200 years! We would love to meet you!
